The newest Chick-fil-a opened today (March 21, 2024) in our neighborhood — 6:30 a.m. It is the second in the area. “Located at the corner of 2nd Avenue and East 79th Street on the Upper East Side, this new concept Chick-fil-A is dedicated solely to delivery and mobile app ordering — with no kiosks, no drink stands, and no seating area or dine-in services.” This is the former Lester’s Department Store location. Given the traffic and sidewalk congestion at their first Upper East Side location (1536 3rd Ave (between 86th St and 87th St), there is worry that those same headaches could plague this location. Below is a photo of the location just after it opened.
